June’s Story

June Glidden always created delicious treats for her friends and family with love and a unique artistry that evolved from her sheer passion for baking. Using traditional ingredients, June expressed her creativity through designs and sculptures in sugar, icing and frosting. As her children grew, Bobby began to notice that June’s kitchen table was becoming smaller and smaller. He decided that she needed a bake shop of her own and so began the building of the Bake Shop right next to their house. Then June was able to begin baking her incredible cakes and cookies for more and more people. Friends would tell friends and in 1995 out of sheer demand, June opened her bakeshop to share her passion with people all over New England.

Self-taught in design and cake artistry, June uses traditional buttercream frosting and icing sugar to sculpt flowers, animals, trees and gorgeous cascades of natural elements on her cakes. All of her designs and treats are baked by June herself. She is a one-woman show!

Her cookie designs are truly unique and breathtaking and all her cookie cutters are made for her by her husband Bobby. Her clients look forward to each season and holiday for her memorable designs and delicious treats from cookies to cupcakes to occasion cakes and even traditional sugar eggs with windows that offer a peak into a holiday world within.
